New For 2015!
Due to popular demand, Screenplay Festival has added Television Categories. We now accept television scripts in four categories. For original scripts, there are categories for Half Hour Pilot Scripts and One Hour Pilot Scripts. For television scripts based on existing television shows, there are categories for Half Hour Spec Scripts and One Hour Spec Scripts.

We are no longer accepting submissions for the 2013 Screenplay Festival competition. We would like to thank everyone who entered the competition this year, and wish you all the best of luck.
In early December, we will be announcing the Semi-Finalists. Two months later, in early February, we will be announcing the Finalists. And two months later, in early April, we will be announcing the winners. All of these announcements will be on our website, Facebook and Twitter, as well as being announced to our mailing list.
And remember… KEER WRITING!
At MovieBytes, a community of screenwriters like you voluntarily fill out report cards on screenwriting contests. Finally, the writers get to judge the contests instead of the contests judging the writers. We are proud to note that the screenwriters at MovieBytes rated Screenplay Festival as one of the “Most Significant” screenwriting contests. We could not be happier to see Screenplay Festival on this list. Thank you to the MovieBytes community!

The deadline for the 2013 100 Screenplays competition is May 1… that is tomorrow! We have not received that 100th script yet, but we have received enough entries that we will not be extending the deadline.
100 Screenplays is an innovative contest from Screenplay Festival, one of the longest running and highest rated contests on MovieBytes. We limit this competition to 100 scripts and get you the results within 30 days. No waiting, no mystery, no frustration.
Prizes include $2,000, online services from sponsors, announcement to thousands of industry professionals, and direct contact with agencies, managers and producers. Get your material out there where it can be discovered!
We would like to thank our latest round of winners for their wonderful screenplays. Starting this week, we are going to begin sending them the contact information of industry professionals who are interested in their work. After all, winning is one thing, but it is what you do after your win that matters.
We also want to let everyone know that for 2013 we are bringing back the innovative contest that we ran last year, 100 Screenplays. Instead of accepting an unlimited number of entries and then taking 6 months to choose the winner, with 100 Screenplays we only accept 100 scripts and the winner is announced within one month.
